Every year I participate in the 12 Days of Christmas, and this year is no different. If I can do one thing, it’s this.
It seems right to start this off where I left off last year. Umineko was a big deal in 2010, and still was in 2011. The ambitious visual novel series came to a end. Kinda.
Witch-Hunt, last I checked, hasn’t released the english patch yet, and the final chapter of Umineko is very complicated and takes a lot of thought.
As such, it was one hell of a trainwreck from the episode came out, and Japanese readers were being asked to spill spoilers. What came out was rather disappointing and didn’t make a lot of sense. The final chapter of Umineko is depressing as hell if you take it at face value. Some things are answered it seemed, but the ending creates a lot more questions.
As things came to light, many declared the series forever ruined by the ending and much rage and anger was had. Me, well, I still need to experience properly first. But somehow watching the entire fandom shocked and confused was a moment to remember.
But the question will be always remain. Is it better to know the truth, or happier to just accept and enjoy the magic of witches?
