K-On…is interesting. The first season, while I really enjoyed it, is truly what you call overrated, and if someone tried to marathon it all at once in the first sitting probably couldn’t understand why K-On was so great. All I can say is, “You had to be there.” The second season, while less musical, improved vastly on the slice-of-life and characters so much that it was worth the hype. It made any negatives of the first season worth it in my opinion.
One of the monumental parts of that first season was unlike most high school stories, the viewers got to go through the girls graduating, and the feelings that accompanied that. I was especially sensitive to this theme as I graduated as well. I will always look back on K-On and think that I was lucky enough to graduate with the girls and have them help me through it. Just…I wonder how they’re doing in college now.
