Cross Game 50: The End

My ship sank! Actually I was really disappointed with the ending, and not just because my ship sunk. Cross Game was a great show, and a hard one to end. I just wish they did a better job. They end with the gang getting on the train to Koshien, but we don’t get to see them there. While I didn’t want to sit through another mind-numbing boring game, I did want to see that scene.

I’m also not thrilled with the pairing of Kou and Aoba. Part of it was that I was shipping Aoba and Azuma so dang hard. However, Aoba and Kou together is just weird. They’re so close that they seem like brother and sister to me, and for that reason, them being together makes me uncomfortable.  Also, with the two personalities, they have a rough road again.
It’s hard to believe it’s over, and it’s harder to believe it ended on such a disappointing note for me. But it was a fun ride, and I enjoyed that.

It always strikes me that other Adachi ‘OTP’ pairings end up feeling slightly incestuous (see: Touch. I don’t want to go into specifics, in case you haven’t seen/read any of it.)

Also, I’m glad to see that I wasn’t the only Aoba/Azuma fan.
