The first half of the episode was so-so. Recycled jokes, and the following of Himeiji trying to give a love letter to Akihisa. Although I do admit I was incredibly amused by Voyeur’s census. I also liked how right as they’re messing around doing the same old same old, Hideyoshi’s sister came in and told them off. However, I found the second half of the episode superior.
A bunch of the gang’s stuff gets locked in the vault where they keep the test scores, so to get in, they enlist the help of a mysterious person from class B. It turns out he wants it to help cheat on the test by studying it.
The rant that this student went off on is all too familiar with the attitude of kids in my school today. Cheating is more prevalent among the AP students then any other group, although it’s still rampant. While I’ve never cheated on a test, I’ve done the ‘copying off other people’ though only for AP Chemistry.
More so, the school knows about the cheating problem, but do not actively pursue discipline or prevention. There are rules in place, no cell phones, etc, but they aren’t really enforced. Why would they? Thanks to cheating, GPAS are inflated, and it makes the school look good. So much for ethics. If you don’t cheat—well, you’re considered as the Class B member considers Class F.
In this case though, while the student doesn’t get caught cheating, class F exacts revenge on him in the most satisfying and awesome way.
I’m also glad to hear we’ll be returning to the battles in the next episode, I’ve missed them.
I think Himeiji has to be one of the most useless characters in anime history. She can’t do anything except be cute, have big boobs, and be test smart. Though I guess being cute is enough for me…
On another side note, anyway us notice/amused by the backgrounds in this episode?
